It's Apple Picking Season ~2013~

It's my favorite time of the year!
It's back to school time, the weather is warm but not hot and of course football.   I love the coolness of the late afternoons, the vibrant colors and the Fall harvest.  I especially love throwing on a sweatshirt, a pair of jeans and my sneakers and going apple picking.

We New Englanders are blessed to have the opportunity to drive a short distance and find the nearest apple picking farm.  There are so many to choose from that over the past few years we have personally tried several.  Each one has it's own unique style, friendly staff and of course delicious tasting apples.

Depending on how early/late the harvest is each year will determine when apple picking season begins.  It seems this year many will be ready for Labor Day or shortly thereafter.  Be sure to contact the farm directly for up to date information.

Here are a few family friendly pick your own apple farms/orchards for you to try this year.  Be sure to tell us which is your favorite!

  1. In New England we've been lucky to have a great September weather wise for apple picking! Every farm is different and has different varieties at different times so calling ahead is important if you have a specific apple that you'd like to pick!
